Xtian Miller is an award-winning designer specialising in visual and interaction design. A British ex-pat now residing in Detroit, he holds a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design from the University of Bedfordshire in England. As Design Lead at Vectorform, Xtian has worked with the likes of F500s such as Ford, Lear, DTE Energy, Mercedes, and FCA on a variety of web-based projects. Outside of his professional work, Xtian has also worked on a series of typographic poster designs, as well as launching several successful web-based side projects such as Pseudo Design Titles and Emergence.js.

Although he specialised in interactive design for the better part of a decade, graphic and visual design has always been Xtian’s foundation, continually seeking to find a way outside of work hours to get creative at the intersection of art and design. “I started these weekly typographic poster exercises back in Jan 2018, and used the likes of Instagram and Dribbble as platforms to share consistently” explains Xtian (@xtianmiller). Initially, the posters were very experimental and loose, with his more recent designs developing and honing in on specific styles and even subject matters. His posters are very much inspired by traditional and modern Swiss design, as well as his interest in the aesthetic of warning signage and the Tesla-esque mystique behind electricity.

As a born-again Christian, Xtian has been fond of taking scripture and interpreting it in modern, thought-provoking ways; separating it from the stereotypical images one might expect. His influences come from all angles with an approach of finding the most extreme solution to a concept.

Xtian’s works have been featured on several well-known publications including Fast Company, Smith Journal, Iron & Air, Power To The Poster, The Outline, and Creative Bloq, to name a few. His work is definitely one to keep an eye on in 2020.
