Like Nature, We Persist: Kris Andrew Small’s Immersive Installation at Outernet London

From June 13th 2025, Outernet London plays host to Like Nature, We Persist—a bold, immersive installation by internationally renowned artist and designer Kris Andrew Small. Situated in the heart of London and forming part of the city’s official Pride celebrations, the show is both a vivid tribute to queerness and a universal meditation on humanity’s connection as a whole.

At the core of Small’s work for this installation is a call for empathy. In a world too often defined by fear and division, Like Nature, We Persist seeks to remind us of what binds us together—our shared human experience and our deep, often neglected connection to the natural world. Through this four-part installation, Small transforms the raw energy of life—its chaos, beauty, and fragility—into an experience that is both contemplative and exciting.

Visitors move through a structured narrative that begins with quiet introspection, then builds into a crescendo of colour, sound, and motion. The second phase channels the chaos of contemporary life, while the third turns to nature as a stabilising force—a reminder of the order that can be found within disorder. The journey ends with a call to action: a push to reconnect.

Small is a maximalist in every sense, and Outernet London’s gigantic digital screens now operate as a canvas for Small’s creative expression. The visual worlds that he creates are typically a collision of radical composition, dynamic typography, and electric colour. So whilst rooted in the spirit of Pride, Like Nature, We Persist aims to resonate far beyond it—celebrating queerness not as something isolated, but as an expression of humanity’s broader potential for unity.
