Launching Typeland’s Independent Type Design Studio + 3 Exclusive New Fonts

Having worked on freelance and collaborative design projects for ten years, type designers Alessia Mazzarella and Vaibhav Singh have taken the plunge to launch a new website for their independent retail font library, under the banner of Typeland (@typeland). Based in London, Typeland originally established itself as a design studio centring around custom typefaces, multi-script type and branding projects. So, this latest development — which offers exclusive retail fonts through the new Typeland website — looks to be pretty exciting. Through their partnership, the designers explain their aim is to offer ‘exciting new options for multi-script typography, as well as for display fonts’, and to kick off their website launch, they’re also offering three exclusive, newly released fonts.

Typeland’s characteristic approach encompasses a no-nonsense attitude to type design and a ‘wry sense of humour’.  Their practice is infused with the aim to create and distribute fonts for what they’re worth — ‘no hyperbolic claims, no fluffy descriptions, no contrived process stories’. And we believe them… The duo of designers have a vast bank experience and expertise behind them, meaning we can only expect 100% top quality fonts from this new endeavour.

The three new fonts, in the duo’s words, ‘demonstrate unapologetic enjoyment and stylistic versatility in the design of letterforms’.
