Jolicia Type is a small digital type foundry based in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Established early last year by Laire Banyu Sandi Pawenang, the team is now complete with Dyahayu Anggraini Wulandari and Dyaharum Pungki Revitasari, who work with the founder to create and distribute fonts on an international basis.
Their latest offering, Gretha, now available on Type Department, is inspired by the elegant, charismatic modern serifs we’ve seen growing in popularity over the last few years, balancing classic influences with modern edginess. With consistent, dynamic accents and a variety of serif styles, the typeface evolves in character throughout the weights and offers a wide range of looks across its various forms.
Discretionary ligatures in both upper and lower cases allow users to play with the rhythm of the typeface while a variable font brings maximum flexibility; perfect for branding and logo projects where a unique yet timeless look is desired.
Gretha is multilingual, PUA encoded and has a font family totalling 14 fonts, making it a practical and unique for a kid range of settings, while the alternates allow for tons of experimentation and styling options. Gretha is now available on Type Department.
